216 - Not everyone embraces change

Selezen27 May 2008

I think the comic says it all. Lots of readers might miss the old store. I know I do, actually. It was the location of so many stories and laughs. Like part of the family.

Progress is good, but not everyone likes it. I don't like plastic jumpers. I also don't like cars that all look the same. I also think that the radial engine whould have a slightly less laughable name than "Wankel". But that's progress.

Next Tuesday's comic will be the official 200th comic that I will have drawn myself. That doesn't include guest strips and stuff. Cool, huh? I'm thinking that I might do something special. Dunno yet.

I'm searching those words behind Si and Os to find something funny. I can only assume there is something there that I don't understand because I can't see it.

Simon and Osmond are talking about stuff to do with setting up the new store. Tim has nothing to do. It's not actually meant to be funny as such...

I think the 200th comic should be a memorial strip for the old store. Y'know, back in her old colours, children spending money on models they'll never glue... the fun memories.

So I take it you are not a fan of the Mazda RX-8's powerplant, Dave?

CH: No, I LOVE the Wankel engine. I just think it has been lumbered with a crap name.
