233 - The wait is almost over...

Selezen28 August 2008

Well, thanks to your kind donations, I have done it. I have purchased a new motherboard for the laptop!

That means that BB should be on the verge of making a comeback! First job once the new kit has been fitted is to start clearing the backlog of stuff to do on the computer, then I can start really concentrating on the comic.

To start with I'll be updating once a week and devoting the other update day to finalising the new look for the comic. That means that BB will be updating on TUESDAY ONLY for a while, with the Thursday/Friday schedule being devoted to drawing new 3D models and doing other computer work that is required (including drawing the promised custom artwork for those who donated!).

It has to be reiterated that without you, the loyal and generous fans, BB would not be making such a rapid comeback. Your generosity and kindness is truly touching and a sign that there are truly nice people out there in Internetland. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Anyway, to work. I knocked up today's comic in a rush just to have something to post for you other than a blank screen and a wordy news post. I do have something good planned for the first update, but as I said it may be a coupe of weeks yet before I get a chance to sit and draw anything - so much to catch up on... Hold steady though, we're nearly there!

The forum's down and out for the moment - my ISP has seen fit to delete all of my database tables and I'm currently trying to get them restored. More news on that as it happens. In addition, just before that happened it would seem that a malicious member managed to hack the form and delete the accounts of several members. If you are one of those members then my apologies, but you will have to create a new account. I am trying to see if the restoration of the database might restore a copy from before this happened. I'll keep you posted on it.

Turn Signals on a Land Raider if five years old today! Five years under the pen of the mighty Steve Campbell, friend, mentor and cohort of Batle Barge and still going strong. Go check out the new look site and go buy some of the NEW TSOALR MERCHANDISE!!!

Also, Steve has recorded an interview with 40K Radio, a rather cool podcast site. Go check it out and check out 40K Radio's other stuff too!

All the best Steve, and thanks for the comedy gold over the years. Don't stop now!!

Is it me or is there irony in the fact the last major story was about how web comics die?

Folks with the latest creditbreaking I think Dave has had to place this on the backburner. But fear not! It will be back, with dancing girls!... or not. But it will be back!

We're not rushing you Mr. Hughes, please take your time. Things are difficult for all of us and we know how unimportant a gaggle of baying fanboys is compared to real life.

Fear not. It's real work that has forced this onto the back burner at the moment - long hours and lotsof stress. Everything looks like it might be coming off the boil soon so should get more time to bring home the bacon...
