History:
I'm an avid Microsoft Flight Simulator fan, and have owned each version since FS95. I have also
loved the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird since the film DARYL, when I discovered the SR-71 was an
aircraft and not (as I had thought for many years) an alien spaceship.
When I discovered flightsim.com after buying FS2000, the
first thing I looked for was an SR-71 model to download, and I found a fantastic one, created by
PSS (Phoenix Simulation Software), complete
with sound effects, panels and detailed textures. It is a free download from flightsim.com
and is now available for both FS2000 and FS2002.
With the aircraft installed and a few test flights under my belt, I decided that the world
just had to be seen from the cockpit of a Blackbird. I started planning an around the
world flight.
