067 - I'm running out of ideas for these titles...

Selezen05 January 2007

Well, another festive season over. Thank god. Back to normality. I might be able to get a bus more or less on time now.

I got Kingdom Hearts 2 for Christmas from my lovely wife. It's good, and it's a very worthy sequel, but it seems to have something missing. The original was a bit of a challenge with puzzles and hidden objects and stuff, but KH2 just seems to be a very linear game. The player follows a set storyline and the only real interaction is the battles. Maybe I'm missing something that will become apparent later. I just remember that there were areas in the original (especially Traverse Town) where there were items and objects that couldn't be reaced until Sora had some special abilities, but haven't seen anything similar in Twilight Town or the Disney Castle yet.

That said, it is rather playable. Too many cute little sub-games though. The Little Mermaid world (Atlantica) is basically an excuse for the writers to insert the songs from the film and make the player press a button on the controller at the right time. Other than that it follows the plot of the film.

Oh, and there's no list of the voice actors in the manual. Some of them seem to be the original actors (like Jack Sparrow) and some don't. It would be nice to know.

Anyway. Enjoy the comic. There will be more on Tuesday as normal!

I'm off to try and learn Thundaga magic in order to get to the next bit of Ariel's story.
